Mairlys was built circa 1884, in a time when Betws-y-Coed was fast becoming a new fashionable beauty hot spot. The Victorians loved it - and artists, fishermen and holiday makers came in their droves.

Betws-y-Coed which translates into 'Prayer House in the Woods' has retained all of its beauty from these earlier times and the artists, fishermen and holiday makers still visit in their numbers. It is not suprising with so much to offer, forest walking trails, mountain biking routes, a 9 hole golf course, pony trekking and a high rope course along with all the fabulous shops, cafes and restaurants, we even have our own railway station which links us to both Llandudno Junction main line and Blaenau Ffestiniog where you can then join the Ffestiniog narrow gauge Railway.
